Back by popular demand! ELLAS is offering our signature Live Remote IELTS Exam Prep Course just in time to achieve the band score you want on the exam in the spring or summer of 2021.
The course will run on a university schedule – 18 weeks for the spring semester. Live lessons will be held for 90 minutes, twice each week, through Zoom. Learners will be assigned homework that will be assessed by peers and the teacher after each lesson. Between lessons, learners will engage in asynchronous written discussions and have access to all documents online. The total weekly commitment for learners will be roughly 4-5 hours per week, for a total of 75-90 hours of active exam preparation, all of which is remote learning through online platforms.
We will be running two sessions and you may choose to register for whichever one fits your schedule and time zone better. Session A will meet Mondays and Thursdays from 8:00 to 9:30 am New York time (US eastern time). Session B will meet Mondays and Thursdays from 13:00 to 14:30 New York time (US eastern time). Both sessions will begin on Monday, January 4 and end on Thursday, May 6, 2021.
The course will balance focus on all four sections of the IELTS exam: reading, listening, writing, and speaking. The materials will be authentic IELTS exam questions and answer sheets or formats to gain practical experience with the exam methodology itself. Relevance subskills will be covered, such as distinguishing main ideas from supporting detail, identifying key points and summarizing, finding specific or detailed information, distinguishing between fact and opinion, making inferences, listening for the main idea, listening for factual information, understanding speakers’ agreement, following an academic explanation, speakers’ responses and attitudes, fluency and coherence, lexical resource, grammatical range and accuracy, pronunciation, constructing arguments, creating coherence and cohesion, ordering, grouping, and structuring paragraphs, and much more.
